This is a poem I owe to a certain someone I met last night on the way to my poets group, just in case she’s reading this…
Man treats the world like a giant pun,
Woman shoots machismo down like a gun.
When they meet eye-to-eye – what a stun!
But then two lone hearts beat as one
And when two lone hearts beat as one,
Old lives are ended, new ones begun,
Passion’s a new oxygen to fuel the run
To new heights, reaching for the moon and sun.
When a woman and man are having fun,
New webs form from new threads spun,
Light enough to fly, sturdy like a tonne
Lasting even after this life is done.
